Analysis of Australia's policy of imposing GST (goods and service tax) on imported low-value sales

From July 1st, Australia will impose GST (Goods and Services Tax) on imported low-value sales (commodity value not higher than 1,000 Australian dollars). According to CNstorm's research on policies and feedback from logistics providers, the following information is available for reference by Australian partners:

1. The entity that needs to pay GST is the seller, e-commerce platform or forwarder, and the recipient will not be required to register and pay GST directly.

2. CNstorm will not collect 10% GST from users for the time being.

3. How the Australian government implements the collection of GST is still unclear. CNstorm will pay close attention to it. Once there is an update, it will be notified separately.
